New Classifications for "Milk" and a Recall on Russell Stover Chocolates
The FDA has issued guidance that declares plant-based beverages are not confusing to U.S. consumers if they use "milk" in their names. The creamy, milk-like substance that doesn't come from a mammals mammary gland is permitted to use "milk" in the name -- ie. cashew milk, almond milk, soy milk, oat milk, coconut milk, etc.
In other news, Russell Stover has voluntarily issued an allergy alert and are recalling their Sugar Free Peanut Butter cups in 2.4oz packaging because they may contain their Sugar Free Pecan Delights product.
